ABOUT HackZurich
HackZurich is a Success Story. In just 2 years, HackZurich has become the largest hackathon in Europe with over 500 participants, 200 sponsor representatives, 200 guests, 50 international partners and 15 startups. The highly educated participants from all over the world represent the quality of HackZurich. Last years 512 hackers participated and the 25 best teams had the chance to present their idea in a 2 minutes pitch. With 10 years worth of innovation and more than 200 projects created, it has made a significant impact on the European and national tech scene. The visibility in well-known Swiss and international print, radio and television media, the large amount of applications and partners show the need for HackZurich as a lab for the digital transformation and an ideal seed for the Digital Festival.
The Digital Festival will also include HackZurich, the third edition of Europe’s largest hackathon. From Friday evening to Sunday – during HackZurich – 500 top engineering students, selected from a global pool of 1600+ applications representing several elite universities from more than 30 countries, are invited to come to Technopark in the Tech-Hub Zurich to hack on web, mobile, and hardware for a 40-hour competition. The programmers, developers and designers from all around the world will brainstorm, put heads together, rack brains, kick ideas around, conceptualize, conceive and develop new mobile and web applications from scratch, during 40 hours and nonstop. For this Hackathon, international companies will provide the participants with hardware and programming frameworks to spark the creation of new applications in several categories. From a professional side, HackZurich represents a unique opportunity to touch base with new technologies, innovation opportunities and talents.
